Nine Million People and Counting Down...

£98 (est. 116) computers will be offered to tempt the last remaining people in the UK to get online.

Actually, the “last remaining” are nine million people who have never used the internet.

Martha Lane Fox, Digital Champion, says “Motivation and inspiration are still two of the biggest barriers [to using the internet]...”

So, for this money, each computer will come with monitor, mouse, Linux software and, most importantly, telephone support.

Formed in 1994, eTeams’ original focus was to bring an understanding of information technology to companies and communities in the West of Ireland.

We then branched out into the area of developing e-Learning courses which brought with it a new revenue stream, that of translating courses, along with increasing requests for translations to the Irish language.

With its growing reputation for e-Learning, e-Working, IT and Irish language translation, eTeams was approached by a major Irish Public Sector agency to translate its website and this project provided the spring-board for eTeams to develop its core, multi-language business.

From these earliest days we also realised the importance of support, whether it comes in the guise of formalised e-Learning or answering the telephone quickly and effectively to respond to specific questions.

But, we go further.

We understand that localisation is one step in your product and service strategy.

We welcome the opportunity to support your project from the very beginning and, yes, this may be several months before the localisation element starts.

Why do we take this approach? Principally, we consider this to be the level of service you should expect to receive from your localisation partner.

We believe that there are positive benefits gained from early investment in you. As your language partner, these benefits include a better understanding of your corporate culture, your critical success factors, your project scope and your decision-making process.

By sharing this information with us, we can then determine the most effective way to support you.

And, of course, we do not expect you to fund our investment.
